This phenomenon of light is called scattering of light. Scattering is a general physical process where some forms of radiation, such as light, sound, or moving particles, are forced to deviate from a straight trajectory by one or more paths due to localized non-uniformities in the medium through which they pass.

Hope it helps uh

Answer:

A part of light gets absorbed by the particles of any medium ahead of it’s following radiation in a particular direction when light travels from one medium to another medium. This is called as the ‘Scattering of Light’. During scattering of light; the light spreads in all directions.

Without a change in its wavelength, the absorption and re-emission of light energy occur; wherein the molecules of air smaller than the incident light’s wavelength absorb the incident light’s energy and a re-emit the light energy. Scattered light’s ‘intensity’ is a function of the wavelength of the ray of light.
