Simple Permanent tissue : These tissue are composed of cells which are structurally and functionally similar. Thus, these tissue are made up of only one type of cells.

There are three types of simple permanent tissue :

Parenchyma : Parenchyma is widely distributed in plant body in the stems, roots, leave, flowers and fruits.

Collenchyma : Collenchyma tissue is also a living tissue like parenchyma.

Sclerenchyma : Scelenchyma is simple permanent tissue which makes the plant hard and stuff.

Types of Simple permanent tissue:-

  • Protective - These tissues are primarily protective in function

Types of Protective tissue :-

1) Epidermis - It forms one cell thick outermost layer of various body organs of plants such as leaves , flowers , stems and roots

2) cork - It consists of dead cells and provide protection the plants

  • Supporting - There are three types of supportive tissues

1) Parenchyma - This tissue provides support to the plants and help in storage .

2) Collenchyma - It provides mechanical support and elasticity.

3) Sclerencyma - It consists of dead cells and provide mechanical support to the plant .
