Skeletal chemical equations are those equations which are not balanced equally both the side...!!!
Mg + O2 → MgO
L.H.S
Mg = 1
O = 2
R.H.S
Mg = 1
O = 1
On balancing it...we get...
2MgO2 → 2MgO
therefore...the equation is not balanced equally...so...it is a skeletal chemical equation..!!!

Skeletal equation => the number of atom of each elements on both side of equation is not equal is called skeletal equation ..
Mg + O2 -> MgO
in this reaction atoms are not equal on both side
in left side oxygen have 2 atom but in right side oxygen have only one atom
so, equation is skeletal ..
