Nature of sociology ::

Sociology is a scientific discipline.

It is a science in the sense that it involves objective and subjective methods of investigation and evaluation of social reality in the light of empirical evidence and interpretation.

However, it cannot be modelled on the basis of natural sciences as human behaviour is different from the world of nature. Human behaviour, the subject matter of sociology is flexible and dynamic.

Scope of sociology::

sociologist study individual actions in different social relationships ssuch as between husband and wife, brother and sister, buyer and seller etc.

they also study various social processes ssuch as cooperation, migration, conflict , competition etc.

They study various groups and organizations like family, caste , associations and state.

Futher , the focus also lies on national issues like unemployment , caste conflict.
