- Physical quantities that describe the state of a system are called state variables.
- Intrinsic variables-pressure (P), temperature (T), density (d), etc.
- Extrinsic variables- internal energy (U), volume (V), total mass (M), etc.

◆ Equation of state-
The connection between state variables is called eqaution of state.
