Dear friend,succession means:

a number of people or things of a similar kind following one after the other.

There are two main types of succession, primary and secondary.

Primarysuccession is the series of community changes which occur on an entirely new habitat which has never been colonized before. For example, a newly quarried rock face or sand dunes.

Secondary succession One of the two main forms of ecological succession, secondary succession is the process relating to community growth or change that takes place when a habitat is disturbed or damaged.

Secondarysuccession usually occurs faster than primarysuccession because the substrate is already present. In primary succession, there is no soil and it needs to form. This process takes time, as pioneer species must colonize the area, they must die, and as this happens over and over again, soil forms.
