Define the bolt,the Watt and the kilowatt-hour. An electric lamp is marked '100 W,220 V'. What do you understand by this? What current is taken by the lamp when it is connected to a 220 V mains supply? What is the resistance of the lamp

The potential difference between two points is said to be 1 volt if one joule of work is done in moving one coulomb of electric charge from one point to another.

The power of a one watt is a rate of working of 1 joule per second.

P = 100 W , V= 220 V

We know , P = V × I

So I = 100/220 , I = 0.454 A

Now, P= V^2/ R ,

R = V^2 / P

R = 220 ×220 /100

So R= 484 ohms

Hope this helps
