Hormones should be secreted in precise quantities. The timing and amount of hormone released are regulated by feedback mechanism.
for example, if the sugar level in blood rises,they are detected by the cells of pancreas which respond by producing more insulin. As the blood sugar level falls, insulin secretion is reduced.

Friend's here is your answer. The excess and deficiency of hormones has a harmful effect. For example- If excess of insulin is secreted by our body ,it may leads to a disease called coma and deficiency of insulin by our body may leads to a disease called diabetes. So,it is necessary that the hormones are secreted by the glands in our body in precise (appropriate) quantities which required the normal functions of the body. I hope this answers helps you.
