Ammeter -> It is a device used to calculate electric current flowing through a circuit.  It is connected in series.
Voltmeter -> It is a device used to calculate the potential difference across a conductor.  It is connected in parallel to the conductor.
Resistance -> It is defined as the ratio  of potential difference across the conductor to the electric current flowing through it.             
                                  or
 It is the property of a conductor to resist the flow of charges.
