1. Filtration:

Filtration is a separation technique.

Its is used when the we need to remove any impurity which is a solid from liquid or gaseous substance.The fluid that passes through filter is called filtrate.

2. Separating Funnel:

Separating funnel is laboratory equipment which is also used for separation.

It is used in case of separation of two immiscible liquids.

Ex : Oil and Water.

Water being denser than oil settles at the bottom which is separated from the oil by turning the knob and draining water at bottom.
