(a) Incident ray : The ray of light which falls on the surface of a body is called an incident ray.

(b) Reflected ray : The ray of light which is sent back by the reflecting surface is called a reflected ray.

(c) Normal line : The perpendicular line drawn on to the surface of the mirror at the point of incidence is called normal line.

(d) Angle of incidence : The angel made by the incident ray with the normal at the point of incidence is called Angle of incidence or incident angle.

(e) Angle of reflection : The angle made by the reflected ray with the normal at the point of incidence is called Angle of reflection or reflected angle.
