= A hazard map is a map that highlights areas that are affected by or vulnerable to a particular hazard.
= A protective covering as of bark chips, straw or plastic sheeting placed on the ground around plants to suppress weed growth, retain soil moisture or prevent freezing of roots.
= A barrier of tress and shrubs that provides protection ( as for crops) from wind and storm and lessens erosion.
= Afforestation is the establishment of a forest or stand of tress ( forestation ) in an area where there was no previous tree cover.
= Ploughing along the contours of the land in order to minimize soil erosion called as contour ploughing.
