prashastis are ancient inscriptions which are usually written in praise of a king. scholars wrote these inscriptions in order to get money from the king. the attributes described in the prashastis may or may not be biased as ppl were scared of the king and only wrote impressive things about him

Prashastis are special kind of inscriptions on stones, wall of temple, pillars in the praise of king and is a Sanskrit word which means “in praise for”. Prashastis are glowing praises of kings and rulers, and were written by the poets of that time. A Prashasti composed by his court poet Ravikirti is the chief source of information about him. Prashastis give information about the king and his reign. Many prashastis have found in India.
