Nephrons are the functionally units of kidney. Each kidney has approximately 1.2 million Nephrons (or uriniferous tubules)
Each Nephron consist of a renal corpuscle (also called Malphigian corpuscle ) and a long renal tubule. The renal corpuscle is a rounded structure consisting of two parts - Glomerulus and Bowman's capsule. The glomerulus consists of a tuft of anastomosting blood capillaries which is invested by a cup shaped structure, the Bowman's capsule.
The main function of renal corpuscle is to produce an ultrafiltrate, i. e., a filtrate with
all ingredients of plasma exept it's proteins.
