the lowest velocity which a body must have in order to get the gravitational attraction a particular planet or other object .
Or you can write this
The minimum steps that an object at a given distance from a gravitating body must have so that it will continue to move away from the body instead or orbiting about it.
Hope it help u

hii here is your answer

escape velocity  is the minimum speed needed for an object to escape from the gravitational influence of a massive body.

The escape velocity from Earth is about 11.86km/s.escape velocity is the speed at which the sum of an object's kinetic energy and its gravitational potential energyis equal to zero;an object which has achieved escape velocity is neither on the surface, nor in a closed orbit {of any radius}

hope it helps.....
