Isomerism

  • Isomerism is a phenomenon of possessing same molecular formula, but different structure.

  • If the isomerism is due to structure, then it is called as structuarl isomerism
  • There are two types of isomerism..

Structural Isomerism

-chain isomerism

-Positional isomerism

-Functional isomerism

-Metamerism

Stereoisometism

-Geometrical Isomerism

-Optical isomerism
