An isotope atom have same number of electron and protons but different number of neutron and therefore have different physical properties. For e.g: Carbon-12,carbon-13 and carbon-14

- For example, Hydrogen has three isotopes - Protium, Deuterium, Tritium.
# Uses of isotopes -
1) Isotopes of iodine are used for radiotherapy in treatment of hyperthyroidism, cancer, etc.
2) Uranium, Radium, Polonium isotopes are used in atomic reactors.
3) Cobalt isotopes are used for irradiation of food products.
