The area in Pacific basin where volcanic eruption and earthquakes occur tremendously is known as "Pacific Ring of Fire".

Explanation:

  • The 40,000 km area of horseshoe shape in Pacific basin that includes volcanic belts, arcs, and trenches of ocean in it is ‘ring of fire’.
  • It has consisted of 452 volcanoes and it is largest area of maximum volcanic eruptions and earthquakes in world.
  • This ring is result of tectonics of plate. The major tectonics are found in western section as it has various small plates of tectonics.
  • The San Andreas zone of fault in California is an important zone that gives birth to a great number of small tremors.
