Static friction → It is the force exerted on an object at rest that prevents the object from sliding.
Sliding friction or kinetic friction→ It is the force exerted on an object in motion that opposes the motion of the object as it slides on another object.

Static: static function is the friction that exists between a stationary object and the surface on which its resting. A frictional force occurs when you try to push an object along side a surface once the objects have already started moving kinetic friction takes over
Sliding: sliding friction refers to the resistance created by any two objects when sliding against each other it is also known as kinetic friction
