Answer:
Vegetative propagation is a type of asexual reproduction of a plant where only a single plant is involved. Parts (Stems, Roots, Leaves and Bulbs) of plants by the process (Cutting, grafting and layering) can form a new plant which is genetically identical to its parent plant.
Advantage:
Genetically identical offspring’s are produced as a result of which useful traits can be preserved
Special mechanisms such as pollination, and d the agents which helps in pollination are not needed as only one parent is required.
Seedless plants can be produced through vegetative propagation.
Disadvantage:
New characters can neither be introduced nor undesirable characters be eliminated.
The plants cannot withstand unfavorable condition as there is no genetic variation.
The disease of the parent plant gets transferred to the offspring.
