Nutrition is a process which organisms obtain nutrients and energy from food while nutrients are the chemical substance in food which provide nourishment for the body.Organisms that carry out holozoic nutrition are known as holozoic feeders or holozoite while organisms that carry out saprophytic nutrition are known as saprophytes. Organisms that carry out holozoic nutrition ingest and digest organic substances and then absorb the nutrients while organisms that carry out saprophytic nutrition digest external dead organic substances and ingest the nutrients.
