Heya,

Transverse waves:- The waves in which particles of the medium vibrate perpendicularly to the direction of propagation of wave are known as transverse waves.

They consists of crests and troughs.

For example:- Light waves and water waves.

Transverse waves of sound
==============================================

Waves in which particles of the medium oscillate perpendicular to the direction of wave are called transverse waves.

Crests and troughs are formed in it.

These can be transmitted only on solids and on surface of liquids, not on gases.

Sound requires a medium to propagate, so it can be transmitted as transverse waves.

Distance between two consecutive crests and troughs is called wavelength.

Due to their transmission, there is no change in pressure and density of the medium.
