Known as the “true soil”, the solum is where most of the biological activity in soil is confined. The C horizon is the lowest soil layer and lies directly above the bedrock. This layer is part soil and part decomposing bedrock fragments. It contains very little organic material.
The soil profile is where the secrets of the soil and landscape around it are hidden. The soil profile is defined as a vertical section of the soil that is exposed by a soil pit. A soil pit is a hole that is dug from the surface of the soil to the underlying bedrock.
Common property resources(environmental) are natural resources owned and managed collectively by a community or society rather than by individuals.
The organic component of soil, formed by the decomposition of leaves and other plant material by soil microorganisms is known as humus.

Answer:
There are several factors that affect the composition of soil . It's thickness , which is the basic property of soil , varies from a few centimetres to a few metres . Despite such variations soils have nearly identical vertical structure -
i e., it forms in horizontal layers . The uppermost layer of soil is known as the topsoil . It is the first layer with a lot of humus . Immediately below is the subsoil that consists of uneven coarse particles of rock are very little humus . Below the subsoil is the bedrock which is hard , solid and tightly bound rock . The different layers of soil together is known soil profile .
