Variation is the difference between organisms of same species. Ex:Even though two boys are humans they differ by looks, fingerprints etc. The importance of variation is if two species don't differ we can't identify them and variation helps us to understand the organism better and helps in understanding

Variations are the gradual differences between offsprings (child) and parents,among the offsprings of same parents and among the individuals of the same species. For Eg. considering facial features your face may slightly differ from the facial features of your parents.Variations play an important role evolution of new species(you may call it as mutation).
