An annular eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line withthe Earth, but the apparent size of theMoon is smaller than that of the Sun. Hence the Sun appears as a very bright ring, or annulus, surrounding thedark disk of the Moon.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER,

Solar eclipse is the eclipse of the sun. During a solar eclipse the moon comes in between the sun and the earth, and all the three are in a straight line. Light from the sun is obstructed by the moon, and a dark shadow is observed on the earth’s surface. During a total solar eclipse the entire sun is covered by the moon and it becomes very dark.
