It was initially called Bolshevists which we get from bol'shinstvo "majority" meaning "one of the majority" and were faction of Marxist Russian Social

Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP) which separates from Menshevik faction at Second Party Congress.

RSDLP was revolutionary socialist political party made in 1898 in Minsk in Belarus to unite different revolutionary organisations of Russian Empire into single party.
