genetic drift occurs when there is a sudden change in the genotype of the species due to the resulting change in genetic iformation or DNA protien and environmental conditions. for eg an elephant stamped on the population of red beetles many of them died and 20% were left they cross bred with green beetles and green colour being dominant trait were the majority population the red colour trait was lost from the population
