The process of intaking of food and assimilation of the nutrients(components of foods) by various processes is known as nutrition

The processes are- ingestion- taking of food and chewing

digestion- the small intestine, liver, stomach and all contribute to digestion of food means breaking food into soluble or simple particles.

assimilation- The walls of small intestine absorb the nutrient through tiny projections capillaries in villi.

absorbtion- thereby absorbing nutrients in blood and transmitting nutrients to various body cells in different parts through blood.
