Transitive relation:-

A relation(on a set) is said to be transitive if a= b and b=c then a must be equal to c.

example:- consider a set of three lines L1,L2, L3 . If L1 is parallel to L2 and L2 is parallel to L3 then

L1 will be parallel to L3

Hence, The set of lines L1,L2,L3

is a transitive relation.
