The disadvantages start even before you become a doctor.

You have to study for 5 and a half long years by when most of your other classmates would have started earning.

Out of this 5 and a half years, one year is internship, when you ae working days and nights. (I ve worked for continuous 60hrs at a stretch with only 2-3hrs of sleep in between) and all this with your patients seeing you as a junior doctor who knows nothing.

Once you are out of internship you have to start preparing for pg, which is definitely not less than a herculean task.

When you are doing your pg, you are again made to work like a donkey for peanuts. (by this time your other classmates are happily settled with a car, a bungalow and a partner)
