Democracy are often criticized for its delay in decision making because of the following reasons:
1) Democracy is about discussion among parties. Before a law is to be passed, there needs to be a discussion among parties in the parliament. So, it takes more time.
2) Many opposition parties may create problems by opposing a certain bill and hence, it may lead to delays.
3) Often we can observe that people also protest against a particular bill because they don't accept its approval. As democracy offers freedom to protest, they can protest on any demand. This may lead to violent conflicts. So, in order to cope with that the government has to think deeply so that it doesn't hurt the other section of the people also. Hence, more time is taken.
