Answer:

Democracy involves waste of time, energy and money. Following points can be given in the support of above statement :

Explanation:

  • The opposing political parties have a tendency of criticising the ruling party. They criticise its policies and their way of governance.  As a result of which the unity of ruling party breaks which leads to the fall of ruling party and re-election in the country. This leads to the instability in the government. As a result of which a lot of energy is wasted of common people ,political parties and political leaders in voting and contesting for elections again and again.

  • Democracy sometimes result in an inefficient and slow government. It is the most common disadvantage of democracy. Democracy takes a lot of time for finalising the decisions hence it sometimes, considered as time-consuming.The decision-making process in a democratic government involves large number debates and deliberations of long-hours between politicians. Most of the times it discourages the individuals to give their opinions. As a result of which a lot of time of people is wasted.

  • A democratic government is considered as one of the most expensive form of government because elections have to be conducted periodically at national levels, at state levels and at block levels also. Besides it a lot of money is required to organise rallies , demonstrations , public gatherings and meetings. Only those candidates are chosen in the elections who can raise a lot of money during campaigning. Sometimes candidates try to bribe the common people and give liquors or provide supply of drugs. They do all these things just to win the elections. As a result, of which a lot of money is wasted.
