The word democracy comes from the Greek words  of demos which means people power or rule. so the democracy basically means the rule of the people.  

Democracy first started as a direct democracy in Greek cities. basically democracy is an one type of government in which rulers are elected by the people.

weakness of democracy :

• we can sat that democracy is a political competition and every political leaders show his/ her power to common peoples.    

• democracy takes huge time for creating any rules that's why It creates many problem for general public.

As my opinion, democracy is just a form of government.
