It is one of the pillars of governance and provides it with legitimacy. It means that the manner in which decisions are arrived at and the reasons for which they are arrived at should be known to the stakeholders whom they affect. It provides people with the power to demand answers from their representatives and reduces the chances of corruption.

1)The Right to information Act has allowed the citizens to know about the working of the different governmnental departments.
Also if anyone wants to know how the government had taken a decision with correct procedure or not the person can investigate about it.
2)The democratic form of overnement is an accountable and responsive form of government as it looks after the needs and expectations of the citizens.If it refuses to help the citizens then the citizens won't elect them again to come into the power.
3)always democratic form of government is a legitimate government that is it has been formed by following some legal norms and procedures.
