numerator = x

Denominator = x -4

x/(x-4)

6 + x = 3(x-4)

6 + x = 3x - 12

2x = 18

x = 9

number = x and x -4 = 9 and 5

Solution -

Let the Numerator be x

So, the Dinominator be x - 4

∴ Fraction = x / x - 4

According to Question,

Given :

Numerator + 6 = 3 × Dinominator

x + 6 = 3(x - 4)

⇒ x + 6 = 3x - 12

⇒ 6 + 12 = 3x - x

⇒ 18 = 2x

⇒ 18 / 2 = x

⇒ 9 = x

Required Numbers -

Numerator = x = 9

Dinominator = x - 4 = 9 - 4 = 5

Hence, the required fraction is 9 / 5
