let numerator be x. then denominator is x+4 .by adding 3 to numerator and denominator we get x+3 and x+8 . then x+3/x+8=1/2. now find the value of x.
2(x+3)=x+8
2x+6=x+8
2x-x=8-6
x=3

VigneshWaran1: I think answer is +1. Because we are adding 3 for both numerator and denominator.

let the numerator be x
then denominator = x+4
x+3/x+4+3 = 1/2
x+3/x+7= 1/2
2x+6 = x+7
x = 1
the number is 1/5
