Density of the gas at 300 K and 210 torr pressure means, the Mass of 1- litre of gas at 300 K and 210 mm of Mercury pressure = 0.434 g
So Volume ofgas (0.434 g )at 760 mm pressure and 273 K
We know P°V°/T°= P¹V¹/T¹
So V°= P¹V¹/T¹ x (T°/P°)
= 1 x (273/300) x (210/760) = 0.2514 L
Therefore 0.2514- litres of a gas at STP weighs= 0.434 g
Molecular Mass is the mass of 22.4- litres of a gas at STP.
So Molecular Mass of the gas = 22.4/0.2514 x 0.434 = 38.67 g
