Ali had realised the pain of separation after his one and only child, Miriam had left him alone after marriage as she had to stay in Panjab with her husband. He learnt that the world is based on love and the pain of separation is inescapable. He used to walk up to the post office everyday without exception with the hope of a letter from Miriam. His lonely journey was accompanied by women singing at work and birds chirping.
