Explanation :

The region around a charge particle in which the effect of electric force can be experienced is called electric field.

Mathematically, electric field is defined as :

E=\dfrac{F}{q}

where,

F is the electric force

q is the charge particle.

Electric field lines are the imaginary lines which shows the direction of electric field.

We know that, the field lines due to positive charge is outward and due to negative charge is inwards.

So, for two positive charges which are kept at a distance r the pattern is shown in figure (1).
