But on higher level of atmosphere it works as a barrier for harmful ultra violet rays coming from sun. ozone is mixture of molecules of atom. due to ultra violet radiation oxygen two atom will now join and form three molecules and form ozone layer. which does not allow ultra violet radiation to enter on earth.
