Newton's inertial force law states that the inertial force is equal to theacceleration of the planet times the mass of the planet. The inertial andgravitational forces must be equal to each other in magnitude but opposite in direction, or else the planet would leave its orbit.

F=ma Gravitational force = GMm/r^2 a=g=f/m So, GMm/r^2//m      =GMm/r^2m    g=GM/r^2
