Newton's law of motion:

rate of change of momentum isdirectly proportionalto the unbalanced force applied.

F = [ pfinal- pinitial]/t = [ mv - mu ]/t = m [ v- u ]/t

We know,

v = u + at

a = [ v - u ]/t

= F = ma
