Derive an expression for equivalent resistance of 4 resistors r1 r2 r3 r4 connected in series

When resistors are connected in series the equivalent is larger than the greatest resistance of the circuit i.e; R eq. > R greatest

Therefore : R eq. = R 1 + R 2 + R 3 + R 4
