Force between two bodies is proportional to the product of their masses:-

F ∞ Mm. ...(1)

and also proportional to square of distance between them

F ∞ R². ...(2)

from (1) and (2) :-

F∞Mm/R²

so F=GMm/R²

where G is constant of proportionality

Read the law
it states
every object in the universe attract every other object with a force proportional to the product of therir masses

form here we can say
F direct prop to Mm 1

and inverse proportional to the square of the distance between them

so
F direct prop to 1/r^2 2

1and 2

F direct prop to Mm/r^2

give gravitational constant G

F =GMm/r^2
