Gravitational force (F) between two objects of masses m1 and m2 is
1. Directly proportional to product of their masses
F ∝ m1 m2 ……[1]
and
2. Inversely proportional to square of separation (d) between them.
F ∝ 1/d² ……[2]
From [1] and [2]
F ∝ m1 m2 / d²
F = Gm1m2 / d²
[where G = Universal Gravitational Constant]
