Energy = Work done = Force*ds (ds is small displacement)
= M*a*ds
= M * dv/dt * ds
= M*dv*ds/dt
= M*v*dv
= M*integration of v dv
= M*v^2/2
And therefore,
Kinetic energy = 1/2*M*v^2
= M*a*ds
= M * dv/dt * ds
= M*dv*ds/dt
= M*v*dv
= M*integration of v dv
= M*v^2/2
And therefore,
Kinetic energy = 1/2*M*v^2
