Derive an expression of drift velocity and write the relation between drift velocity and mobility. Here μ=eτm is the mobility of the electron and it is defined as the magnitude of the dricft velocity per unit electrod field.

Relation between drift velocity and mobility. :-

When a potential difference is applied across the conductor, free electrons gain velocity in the opposite direction of the electric field. Mobility is defined as the value of drift velocity over electric field strength. Therefore, higher the drift velocity of the particle higher is the mobility.
