Explanation:

let us consider we have a salt AB, if solubility is S then we can write the conc of [A⁺] and [B⁻] each equal to S.

at equilibrium

AB ⇔ A⁺ + B⁻

then we can write solubility product  ksp as

ksp = [A⁺] [B⁻]

ksp = S. S

Ksp = S²
