Answer:

To find:

SI unit of work done.

Derivation:

Work done is the amount of energy used to accelerate a body over a certain distance.

Mathematically , we can say that :

Work Done = Force × Displacement

=> W = F × D

=> W = ( M × acc.) × D

Now, we can get the SI unit of work done by taking all the SI unit of the components on the RHS.

SI unit of

  • Mass => Kg
  • Acceleration => metre/sec²
  • Displacement => metre

So SI unit of Work done is

Kg × (metre/sec²) × metre

=> Kg metre²/sec²

This unit is called the "Joule" as a whole.

Final answer is (Joule) or Kg metre²/sec²
