Consider the graph attached below:

The linear motion of a body with initial velocity - u

The body accelerates uniformly with - a

Time - t

And aquires final velocity - v

The velocity-time graph is a straight line DB.

Initial velocity = OD = u

Final Velocity = OC = v

Acceleration = Slope of line DB,

Acceleration (a)

a = AB / AD

a = DC / OE

a = (OC-OD) / OE

a = (v-u) / t

at = v-u

v = u + at
